We are Leyoda. We build private AI for the firms that keep Europe's books.

Bertha is what we make. This page is about who we are, what we are working towards, and the people doing it.

Our mission

Give the people who do Europe's accounting their time back, with AI their firm owns, on a machine in their own office.

Our vision

A company that lasts generations: technology that serves the firms using it, keeps their clients' files where they belong, and leaves people more free to do the work they are good at and they love.

Why it has to be private

An accounting firm holds the most sensitive files its clients have. We think European firms should be able to use AI without sending those files to a handful of large providers abroad, so Bertha runs on hardware the firm owns, and nothing about a client leaves the building.

How we work

We listen first. Every part of Bertha started as something a firm showed us, and we build it with them, test it on their own work and only then call it done.

How Bertha started

Before we wrote any of Bertha, we sat with a small accounting practice for weeks and recorded how the work really happens. One sentence from those sessions shaped everything since: the decision takes two seconds; the clicking is the work.

So we did not build another assistant to paste things into. We built a platform that prepares the routine work, the returns, the reminders, the matching and the write-offs, and stops for one person to approve it.

And because an accounting firm holds the most sensitive files its clients have, it all runs on a machine in the firm's own office. Nothing about a client leaves the building.

What we hold to

Private by how it is built

The models run on your machine. Every outgoing request is counted, and for client work the count is zero.

The person decides

Bertha prepares; a named person approves. Anything that touches a client or the tax authority always waits for a person.

Hours, counted

Time saved is counted from real actions, with the arithmetic open. We only report what was measured.
